My Philosophy

“You can go on any diet under the sun. If you follow the diet plan you will lose the weight. But if you don’t change the habits and behaviors that caused the weight gain to begin with, the weight will eventually come back”.

As your nutritionist and coach, I will help you make a commitment to your Self and your Health. If you’ve struggled with your weight your whole life, you’ve tried every diet imaginable and your weight is taking a toll on your physical and emotional health, then stop putting your health and happiness on hold!  I will help you make long-term changes, not give you more quick fixes. I will teach you how to make the right food choices and break those eating and behavior patterns that will help you lose the weight for good so you can get from where you are now, to where you’ve been longing to be! I will hold your hand when it feels hard and you want to give up.  You will receive all of the tools and strategies you need to guide you through the process of change and transformation.

When you begin create an awareness of what your habits and behaviors are around food you can  “change your brain” and your relationship with food. You will be able to stop that negative and self-sabotaging voice in your head that keeps you from from reaching your goals and maintaining your deal weight. I will help you stop eating your feelings.

I believe in eating real, not processed foods, I believe in everything in moderation. I believe in not being deprived. I don’t believe in counting points and calories.

My Story

My interest in health and fitness began, when as a freshman in college, I experienced the “Freshman 15” within the first two months of arriving at school. I gained a lot of weight in what seemed like the blink of an eye! I ate to deal with the stress of being away from home. I ate because I was making new friends and my friends were spending hours in the dining hall and eating late at night. I ate to deal with the stress of final exams. And before I knew it, I was also eating because I figured the damage is done, what’s a little more?

Within two months of starting school the body I didn’t realize how much I appreciated was gone. Suddenly none of my clothes fit me. My boyfriend fit into my jeans. I was horrified! I dreaded getting dressed every morning. My wardrobe now consisted of anything that could be tied at the waist. Fancy sweatshirts and sweatpants were the rage so it was easy to gain more weight since nothing ever felt tight.

It was then I experienced those feelings of being uncomfortable in my own body, feeling miserable every time I went to my closet to get dressed, and being very unhappy about the way I looked and felt. I began to educate myself on nutrition and fitness and by the end of my freshman year I changed my diet and began to workout. My body completely transformed, I was hooked.

It wasn’t until 8 years after I graduated from college that I changed careers and decided to follow my passion for health and fitness. I first became a certified personal trainer.

After successfully helping my clients transform their bodies through training and diet advice, I then went on to receive Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. In addition, my certifications and License include: Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Dietician/Nutritionist licensed by New York State, Certified in Adult Weight Management by the ADA. I am also a personal trainer certified by the American Counsel on Exercise since 1994. I was the Nutritionist for the New York Stock Exchange from 2003-2007 and for 10 years served as the nutritionist to traders on Wall Street.
